Steps:

This will work on Windows XP and up.
Solution to “USB Device Not Recognized”:
1) Unplug your computer’s power supply unit
2) Unplug all other cables from the rear of the computer
3) Remove the side panel of the tower by loosening the screws and sliding the panel off
4) Remove the motherboard battery by pressing on the release clip
5) Wait 10 minutes
6) Replace the battery by putting it back in its holder
7) Replace the side panel by placing it on the side of the tower. Slide forward till it fits in place. Tightening screws on the rear of the tower
8) Plug all cables back in on the rear of the tower
9) Power on your computer
10) Once at your desktop try USB devices in problematic USB port
Your problem should now be solved.

On Your Labtop:

1. Disconnect all cables – power cord, etc.

2. Turning your lab-top over, take out it’s battery for 5 min.

3. Put it back in

4. Turn your lab-top back on and there you go.

5. Plug in your mouse or USB device and wait to see if your lab-top recognizes it.

Hopefully this saves you time and money.
